In the latest episode of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, reflecting on his journey, Aamir shared, "For a year and a half, I worked behind the scenes and even participated in two plays. In my household, my parents and my uncle Nasir Husain, a prominent filmmaker, discouraged us children from entering the film industry. They believed it to be an unstable profession and urged us to focus on our studies instead. My father, in particular, had a fiery temper, so I never had the courage to express my desire to pursue acting."

Recounting the pivotal moment when fate intervened, Aamir emotionally revealed, "My journey into acting was rather coincidental. Despite failing auditions for college plays, I persevered and decided to audition for a Gujarati play. To my delight, I was selected. However, fate had other plans. Just two days before the play, Maharashtra bandh prevented me from attending rehearsals. When questioned by director Mahendra Joshi the next day, I was removed from the play, leaving me depressed. However, shortly after, I was approached by two individuals who offered me a role in a diploma film for an FTII student. Without hesitation, I accepted the opportunity and filmed in Pune."

Aamir further said that another student saw the diploma film and offered him another film. This chain of events caught the attention of renowned filmmaker Ketan Mehta, eventually paving the way for Aamir's breakthrough role in ‘Holi.’ Subsequently, his uncle Nasir Husain and cousin Mansoor Khan recognized his talent and cast him in the iconic film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak,’ despite the need for a screen test and other formalities.

On the work front, Aamir Khan’s previous outing was with the film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
