Aamir Khan's surprising cameos we bet you were not aware of

Aamir Khan, Bollywood's favorite actor, is famous for his intense performances and hit movies. But in addition to his revered leading roles, Aamir has dotted his career with surprise cameos-some so understated, they're easily missed. From his early days as a child artiste to friendly turns with industry colleagues, here are five surprises Aamir Khan cameos.

2/6

‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’ (1973): The debut of child prodigy

Prior to becoming a superstar, Aamir Khan first appeared on screen as an eight-year-old in Yaadon Ki Baaraat. In Nasir Hussain's classic film, Aamir featured as the young Ratan (who was later played by his cousin Tariq Khan) in the iconic title song sequence. His cameo appearance as the innocent, wide-eyed kid was the start of a legendary career in Hindi cinema.

‘Pehla Nasha’ (1993): The ultimate Khan reunion

‘Pehla Nasha’ is a movie best recalled for uniting the then three soon-to-be superstars-Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Saif Ali Khan-in one frame. Aamir is seen making an appearance as himself in a cameo in this Ashutosh Gowariker film, along with the other Khans, in a lighthearted scene where they see the film's hero, portrayed by Deepak Tijori. It's a blink-and-miss moment that's all too rare and a trivia favorite among Bollywood fans.

4/6

‘Damini’ (1993): A starry song sequence

In Rajkumar Santoshi’s acclaimed drama ‘Damini,’ Aamir Khan pops up in a special appearance as himself during the energetic song 'Bin Sajan Jhoola Jhooloon.' The cameo is a fun, meta moment-Aamir performs on stage, adding a touch of star power to the film and cleverly promoting his own upcoming movie at the time. It’s a unique crossover that only eagle-eyed fans tend to remember.

5/6

‘Luck By Chance’ (2009): A realistic industry touch

Zoya Akhtar's ‘Luck By Chance’ is a satirical commentary on the Hindi film industry, with real-life stars playing themselves. Aamir Khan's appearance in the film is short but telling-he shows up as himself at a party of the film industry, fitting in perfectly with the movie's realistic depiction of Bollywood glamour social circles. His cameo serves to highlight the film's topic of pursuing dreams despite industry moguls.

‘Salaam Venky’ (2022): A comforting illusion

In Salaam Venky, an emotional drama concerning a mother and her son struggling with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Aamir Khan does a special appearance as an illusionary figure to Kajol's Sujata. His short but emotionally charged appearance as a symbol of a reassuring figure for her son in the hereafter gives the story a spiritual dimension. Aamir's cameo was so well done that he refused to alter a single line of his script, indicating his dedication to the movie's emotional message
