Abhishek Bachchan left fans pleasantly surprised on Tuesday, when he was announced as the owner of a franchise in the upcoming European T20 Premier League (ETPL), with cricket legend
Rahul Dravid.
The actor, who is currently working on the action film 'King' with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, showed off his villain's avatar, rocking a suit styled with a slick hairstyle and cool beard. Bachchan shared the photos with Rahul Dravid on his social media handle, which instantly earned applause from his sister Shweta Bachchan.

The announcement also had fans cheering for the Bollywood star and former Indian cricket captain, calling the initiative an exciting move. "Both my childhood heroes together" said one fan, while another added, "my childhood dream." Still another added, "My absolute two favourites in one frame!"

Speaking to ANI, Bachchan, who already owns a Kabaddi team and is an active member of the celebrity football league, said the cricket league aims to establish itself as a world-class tournament in Europe while showcasing top international talent. He said in a statement, "The expectation, I believe, should be one, to have a world-class cricketing tournament in Europe. And I’m very happy to note that with the kind of people that have already been signed on in terms of players, I think that promise hopefully should come true."
“When you have some of the best cricketing talent that’s going to come and play, I think it kind of speaks a lot about the kind of intention that we have of what we’re trying to achieve,” he added.
