Abhishek Bachchan quashes the myth that an actress' fan following gets less once she is married: 'First example to my mind is Aishwarya, but look at Hema Malini ji'
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan got married in 2007. The actress was at the peak of her career then and then once she became a mother in 2011, she voluntarily reduced work at the movies and opted for quality over quantity. The actress has often confessed that being a mother and taking care of Aaradhya has been the most blissful and fulfilling for her. Meanwhile, there's not been any dearth in her popularity or stardom. She continues to be a global star. Thus, giving her example, Abhishek quashed the myth that the fan following of an actress reduces once she gets married.
He said when asked about it during a chat with Peeping Moon, "We are happily married, it's our 18th year and I haven't seen her fan following depleted. The first example coming to my mind is Aishwarya but look at Hema ji (Hema Malini). She is the first female superstar and she had more hits after she got married."
However, Abhishek admitted that life changes after marriage and children. Talking about how his life has changed, Abhishek said, "Of course it does. When your goals change, your reasons change, your choices will change. Today I'm a father. I feel a certain responsibility to my entire family so I will change accordingly. Life changes you, circumstances change you and that's how it should be. I don't think an actor can be an island and just be narcissistic and megalomaniac about everything. That's where the rot will start. If you think you're the greatest, you will never improve, you'll be complacent. Situations in life will change and the compulsions will change with that."
Aishwarya was recently spotted at the Red Sea International Film Festival. Meanwhile on the work front, Abhishek was seen last seen in 'Kaalidhar Laapata' and before that 'I Want To Talk'.
