Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh on Wednesday appealed to the youth to come out in large numbers to cast their votes in the ongoing Maharashtra assembly elections. Deshmukh cast his vote in Babhalgaon in Latur district. His brothers, Amit and Dhiraj, are contesting the Maharashtra assembly polls from Latur City and Latur Rural constituencies, respectively, as candidates of the Congress party. They are sitting MLAs from these constituencies. After voting, Riteish said, "It is a very important day today as we are voting. The youth should come out and vote in large numbers and make their candidates win."

Actor Riteish Deshmukh also emphasized how essential it is for young people to actively participate in the democratic process, as they hold the power to influence the future of their state. His appeal stressed that voting is not only a right but a responsibility, urging voters to make informed decisions for the betterment of their communities. He urged citizens to recognize their voice in shaping policy and leadership that affects them. By encouraging a higher voter turnout, he hoped that the election would be a fair reflection of the public's will. Till 11 am, Latur City constituency recorded 21.32 percent voting, followed by Latur Rural at 20.78 percent, Nilanga at 18.23 percent, Udgir at 17.97 percent, Ausa at 17.36 percent, and Ahmadpur at 15.09 percent. Deshmukh's call for active youth participation highlights the crucial role of elections in fostering a stronger democracy.
