Adah Sharma, who plays the role of IPS Neerja Madhvan in the film, spoke to Pinkvilla about her immersive approach to the character and the profound impact the story had on her. Addressing the connection between her and the film's narrative, Adah emphasized that as an actor it is her job to connect with the story because if the narrative fails to touch her at all, it'll be a very plastic performance.

The actress also shared insights into her preparation process. She explained that even when doing a fictional thing, she wants to be thorough with her research. She recalled how Sudipto sent her disturbing videos for 'The Kerala Story' that she used to obsessively watch in the night.

Further, she discussed the film's objective in the very conversation. The actress conveyed that ‘Bastar’ should not merely touch the audience but leave a lasting impact. She emphasized that the movie should scar the audience and shake them up.

For the unversed, ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story,’ is based on real events in Chhattisgarh. Written by Amarnath Jha and directed by Sudipto Sen, the movie boasts a stellar cast including Adah Sharma, Raima Sen, Shilpa Shukla, Yashpal Sharma, and more. The movie will be making it to the big screen on March 15.
