The success story of Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to grow stronger at the box office, and director
Aditya Dhar is taking a moment to acknowledge the people behind the scenes who helped bring the film to life.
On April 8, the filmmaker shared a heartfelt note for casting director
Mukesh Chhabra, crediting him as one of the key forces behind the film’s scale and impact.
Aditya Dhar’s heartfelt note for Mukesh Chhabra
Sharing BTS pictures from the sets of Dhurandhar, Aditya reflected on how Mukesh played a crucial role in shaping the film. He revealed that the casting director believed in the project’s vision even more than he initially did.
He wrote, “Here’s to Mukesh Chhabra, the man who saw Dhurandhar long before I truly did. There are people who come into a film and do their job... and then there are people who quietly reshape the film itself. Mukesh was the latter.”
Highlighting the challenges of casting a film of such scale, Aditya added that Mukesh and his team went “all guns blazing” to bring together the right talent. “My only brief to them was simple: bring me great actors, new or old, big or small—it doesn’t matter. And he turned that into a mission,” he shared.
The director also underlined how the process involved endless discussions, debates, and exploration to ensure every character felt authentic. “For him, casting was never about filling roles... it was about finding people who belonged,” he wrote.
Beyond work, Aditya spoke about their personal bond, calling Mukesh “a friend, a well-wisher, a brother,” who stood by the film with unwavering faith. He concluded by saying, “This film carries your choices in every single frame, Mukesh! Endless gratitude, respect and love for you.”
Mukesh Chhabra’s emotional response
Reacting to the post, Mukesh Chhabra penned an equally emotional reply. Calling Aditya his “brother,” he expressed gratitude and said working on the film had been one of the best experiences of his life.
“Bhai, reading this post... I genuinely don’t know what to say. I’m very emotional right now,” he wrote, adding that Aditya’s humility and habit of giving credit to everyone sets him apart in the industry.
He further praised the filmmaker not just for his craft but also for his character. “You are not just an incredible director, but an even better human being. Today the world knows your talent, but I feel lucky that I know the person behind it,” Mukesh shared, adding that this is “just the beginning” of a bigger journey ahead.
