Actor Kriti Sanon found herself in a soup, when recently, a picture of her's went viral for all the wrong reasons. In the pic, Kriti can be seem smoking, when ringing in her birthday in UK with sister Nupur and rumored boyfriend Kabir Bahia. The pic was followed by another one, in which the Raabta actress could be seen vaping. Netizens on the other hand, had a field trip trolling the actress, as she reportedly had always been anti-smoking. Even her mother Geeta Sanon had earlier told reporters that not only does Kriti not smoke herself, she also discourages others around from doing so.


On the other hand, a few years back, actor Priyanka Chopra's similar pic went viral, sparking a trend under #PriyankaChopra on X (then Twitter). The image shows her smoking a cigarette while her husband, Nick Jonas, and her mother, Madhu Chopra, are seen smoking cigars during a yacht outing. This led to severe backlash on social media, with many accusing Chopra of hypocrisy.

Just last year, Chopra starred in an ad campaign revealing that she has struggled with asthma since childhood. The new photo has raised questions about whether smoking is appropriate for someone with asthma.

When a fan had shared the film's still of Kriti smoking, her mom responded to this tweet and said, "She has always been anti-smoking and used to ask people around her to leave smoking.”
