Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor: A love story straight out of Bollywood

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor make one of the most powerful couples in Bollywood. The two have been dating for over five years now and they are only a few days away from starting their new journey as husband and wife. Amid this, take a walk down memory lane and revisit their fairytale love story!

Childhood crush

Alia met Ranbir when she was only 11 years old. The actress had gone for the audition for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Black’ where Ranbir was assisting him. Talking about it, Alia had said that she felt married to him at the first meeting. “When I saw him for the first time on screen, that was the day I decided that I wanted to marry him. That was when I was a sweet little girl,” she once said. From time to time, Alia has also called him her biggest crush. “I have always loved Ranbir. I love him more after 'Barfi'. He is my biggest crush and he will always be my biggest crush,” she revealed during ‘SOTY’ promotions.

Reel to real

While they were too young during their first interaction, destiny brought them together for filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’ in 2017. It is when the director played cupid between the two during the film shoot and both fell in love on the sets. Ranbir and Alia recently grabbed headlines with a throwback video where the actor shared the exact day, month and year, and also the exact outfit the ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ actress was wearing when they first started working on the film.

Going public

After the rumours about Ranbir dating Alia spread like a wildfire, the two neither denied nor accepted any reports. They straight dropped the bomb at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception in Mumbai when they made their first public appearance together. Soon after that, spotting them together in the city became a thing. From attending each other’s family outings to stepping out for dinner dates or work calls, Alia and Ranbir have been inseparable.

Wedding bells

Ranbir and Alia are all set to tie the knot in a traditional Punjabi wedding this week. While the pre-wedding festivities are likely to begin on April 13 at RK Studios, the nuptials will take place at the ‘Barfi’ actor’s Vastu residence in the early hours of 15th April.
