Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor took off to Delhi where the prestigious National Awards ceremony will take place today. The actress is receiving the honour for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali helmed Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The ceremony is being held at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi and President Droupadi Murmu will confer the recipients with the prestigious award. Arriving at the venue, Alia Bhatt was spotted in her wedding saree. The actress looked stunning in her ivory and gold drape, which she teamed with a stunning choker and matching earrings. The actress tied her hair in a bun. The only ring she wore was her stunning engagement rock. Ranbir Kapoor looked dapper in a black sherwani as he arrived with his wife for the National Film Awards 2023.
The 69th National Film Awards announced joint Best Actress honour for Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon (Mimi). Soon after the win was announced, Alia had penned on Instagram, “To Sanjay Sir..To the entire crew..To my family..To my team & last but most definitely not the least — To my audience.. ♥️ This national award is yours .. because without you ALL none of this would be possible.. seriously!!! She added, “I am SO grateful ��.. I do not take moments like these lightly.. I hope to continue to entertain for as long as I can.. Love and light.. Gangu (also known as alia) ����������.”
She had also congratulated Kriti Sanon and added, “P.S – Kriti .. I remember messaging you the day I saw Mimi .. it was such an honest and powerful performance.. I cried and cried.. so so well deserved.. shine on you star… the world is your oyster.” Replying to her, Kriti wrote, “Congratulations Aliaaaa! So so well deserved! I’ve always admired your work and I’m too excited that I get to share this huge moment with you! Yayyyiiee!! Biggg hug Lets Celebrate!!.”
Gangubai Kathiawadi also starred Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Jim Sarbh and Ajay Devgn.
