Amid property row, know all about Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur's kids Samaira and Kiaan: Age and what they're up to now
Karisma Kapoor’s kids, Samaira and Kiaan, have been all over the news recently because of a big legal battle over their late father Sunjay Kapur’s rs 30,000 crore inheritance.
Samaira and Kiaan have mostly stayed out of the spotlight, but they were very close to their dad. His sudden passing in June 2025 hit them hard. Their mom, Karisma Kapoor, has always kept them safe and away from the media.
Samaira, the older one, turned 20 this year. Born on March 11, 2005, she’s chosen to focus on her studies rather than Bollywood. She’s studying at Tufts University in Massachusetts, USA, and is interested in international relations and business. From the way she’s shaping her life, it’s clear she wants to build her own path outside films, maybe even with a career abroad.
Kiaan is 15 and still studying in school in Mumbai. Born in 2010, he’s known to be shy and private, rarely stepping in front of cameras. While he sometimes joins his mom at family events, he mostly enjoys a quiet life away from the spotlight. Unlike many star kids, he hasn’t shown much interest in films or social media.
Their quiet lives have now been shaken by a bitter property dispute. After Sunjay's passing, Samaira and Kiaan approached the Delhi High Court to challenge a will dated March 21, 2024, which reportedly left everything to their stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur. The siblings are seeking a one-fifth share of their late father’s massive Rs 30,000 crore fortune, which includes real estate, company shares, and other investments.
The court has asked Priya Kapur to provide a full list of Sunjay’s assets and scheduled the next hearing for October 9. Representing Samaira and Kiaan, Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani said the will looked suspicious, was unregistered, and came to light under questionable circumstances.
On the other hand, Priya’s lawyer argued that the children were already beneficiaries of an existing trust and had recently received assets worth Rs 1,900 crore. Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has also voiced her concerns, adding another layer to this already complicated case.
