Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra share cherished photos as they pay emotional tribute to Manoj Kumar: Har pal bahut yaad ayega
The Indian film world is mourning the death of legendary actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar, who passed away early Friday morning, 4 April 2025. His passing brought a wave of grief across the country, with tributes pouring in from all parts of the film industry. Among those who paid their respects in person were actors Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, who shared a close bond with the late star. Both also remembered him online through emotional messages and old photos that reflect decades of friendship they shared.
Amitabh Bachchan’s heartfelt tribute
Big B visited his home on Saturday morning to offer his final respects. He was seen arriving quietly with his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan. A video of their visit soon appeared online, showing the solemn mood at Kumar’s residence as people gathered to bid farewell.
Later, Big B posted a moving tribute on his personal blog. He shared a black-and-white picture where Manoj Kumar was laughing, with his arm around Amitabh. The warmth in the picture spoke volumes about their friendship. Amitabh wrote: “In remembrance... and prayer (folded hands emoji) in grief.”
Dharmendra remembers his old friend
Dharmendra, too, had visited Manoj Kumar’s house to pay his last respects. Speaking briefly to the media, he recalled how the two of them had spent their early years together and built a bond that lasted a lifetime.
On Instagram later, he posted an old photograph where he and Manoj Kumar are seen smiling and holding a trophy. Dharmendra wore a grey suit, red tie, and white shirt, while Manoj Kumar appeared in a simple white shirt and trousers. Along with the image, Dharmendra wrote, “Manoj, mere yaar tere saath beeta har pal bahut yaad ayega (Manoj, my friend, I will remember every moment spent with you)!!!”
The post received many comments, including a red heart emoji from his son, actor Bobby Deol. The photo and words gave fans a glimpse of their deep connection, built not just on film sets, but through years of friendship and experiences.
On Saturday, 5 April, Manoj Kumar was cremated at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai with full state honours. Family, friends, and many from the film industry gathered to say their final goodbyes.
