Actor Amol Parashar has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to producer Ekta Kapoor, acknowledging her faith in his versatility through roles that defied typecasting. From the web series Home to the film Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare, and now the intense drama KULL, each collaboration has pushed his boundaries and marked a turning point in his career.
A Journey of Trust and Transformation
“This is an appreciation and gratefulness post for @ektarkapoor. Her name is synonymous with the Indian entertainment industry with landmark work across mediums, TV, Digital and Films. I have had the opportunity to collaborate thrice with her and Balaji, a series called ‘Home’, a film ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare’ and now the recently released series ‘KULL’,” he wrote.
Sharing how each role challenged preconceived notions, Amol reflected on how Ekta never played safe while casting him, “All 3 of these worlds and the characters have no similarities with each other. Not just that, each one of them was cast against my ‘type’ at that time.”
He elaborated, “When most thought of me only for comedy, I got Vansh, in a middle-class family drama. When most thought me only for urban cool characters, I got Osmaan who comes from a small village and makes his living as a delivery boy. When most thought of me as the nice guy, I got Abhimanyu Raisingh – the most twisted character I have read on paper.”
“And none of them came with any doubt or second guessing, they came with full conviction and faith in my abilities. This for me is a sign of astute imagination and the courage to follow through with that imagination.”
Looking Ahead With Gratitude
“In a world where it is difficult to convince people, especially if they have no personal connection with you, to take a bet on you; I have had her take these wild bets on me. Thank you EK! I am honoured and humbled and grateful. And I am waiting to do it again.”
Ekta Kapoor responded warmly, calling him “an outstanding talent” and hinting at another exciting collaboration soon.
