The cult classic 'Andaz Apna Apna' is officially returning to cinemas this April in a fully restored and remastered version. After speculation about a potential re-release, it has now been confirmed that the beloved comedy will hit the big screens with enhanced 4K visuals and Dolby 5.1 sound.
Recently, the Money Control website reported that the trailer for the re-release of the classic film will be unveiled on February 13. Talking to us exclusively, Priti Sinha, daughter of the film’s producer Vinay Sinha, shared her excitement about bringing back the film in a new avatar. “We have restored and remastered the whole film in 4K and Dolby 5.1 sound. It’s our tribute to our father, who stood against all odds to make this film, and we are tremendously proud of this legacy,” she said in an exclusive interview. She further added, “I know there is a huge fan base for the film and therefore will be releasing the teaser of the film this Friday (February 14).”
Director Rajkumar Santoshi also expressed his joy about the re-release, stating, “Andaz Apna Apna is very close to my heart, and I am very excited to hear that it is re-releasing again this April.”
Starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor, the film will be re-released across India by Cinepolis. Fans can relive the timeless comedy on the big screen once again!
Released on November 4, 1994, 'Andaz Apna Apna' went on to influence several films in other languages, including 'Ullathai Allitha' (1996), 'Veedevadandi Babu' (1997), and 'Galate Aliyandru' (2000), though none were direct remakes. While the film was only a semi-hit at the box office upon release, it has since gained a cult following. Notably, its climax bears similarities to the 1972 film 'Victoria No. 203.'.
