Andha Yug to be staged in the US

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">ALMORA: Renowned author Dharamvir Bharti''s Hindi play <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andha Yug</span> will be staged in the United States in July, the play''s director and noted film actor Nirmal Pandey said here on Thursday.<br />"My team will go to the US in July after staging the play in Chandigarh and Varanasi," Pandey, who was widely acclaimed for his roles in <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Bandit Queen</span>, <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Train to Pakistan</span> and <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Godmother</span>, said.<br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andha Yug</span> tells the story of Dhritarashtra, one of the principal figures in Mahabharata.<br />Pandey, who was here to participate in a workshop on art and theatre, said he is also planning to make a Kumaoni film which would highlight the problems of the hills like migration of youth to the plains.<br />"Very soon this film will be on floor," Pandey, who hails from Uttaranchal, said. </div> </div>
