Amar Singh Chamkila has been garnering praise from all over ever since the film released. The homage given to the late Punjabi singing sensation has found a place in the audience's hearts. Anjum Batra, who played dholak player Kesar Singh Tikki, is also getting rave reviews for his performance. The actor is now planning to go meet the real family of Tikki in Ludhiana.
Kesar Singh Tikki passed away in January this year. Anjum spoke to the late artist’s daughters and grandson before the film’s release, who were very happy with the actor playing their father on screen. "After the film’s release, I spoke to Tikki Ji's wife too and she was very emotional. She said that it felt like her husband was back on the screen. She even invited me to visit them at their home in Ludhiana," Anjum shares
The actor is currently busy with the love and adulation he has been receiving and the media tours he is on, but in the first week of May, he plans to visit Tikki's family. "I want to pay my respect to Tikki ji since he just passed away this year. And his family invited me with so much love that I want to return that love to them as well. So, very soon I am planning to visit them. I will feel very good after doing that,” he informs.
