Anupam Kher opens up on taking care of Raju Kher's finances, credits wife Kirron Kher for never questioning him: 'My brother has never been jealous of me'

At a time when stories of family feuds and bitter property battles frequently dominate headlines in the industry as well as in the society, veteran actor Anupam Kher recently spoke about the deep bond he shares with his younger brother Raju Kher. In a candid conversation, the actor reflected on financially supporting his brother over the years and expressed gratitude to his wife, Kirron Kher, for always respecting that relationship.Kher got emotional while discussing family values, childhood memories, and the importance of standing by siblings through every phase of life. He said that money should never create distance between brothers, he said in an interview on the Youtube channel, Zindagi with Richa, “If every brother remembers what they were like when they were young, there would be no fight. I look at my life like it’s a film. How can I forget that we grew up together?”The actor also praised Kirron for never questioning his decision to help Raju financially. “I must also compliment Kirron (Kher, wife), because she never, ever asked me, ‘Why do you do so much for your brother?’ That’s how problems begin.”Anupam shared that supporting his brother eventually became second nature to him. “I would sign cheques for Raju, the household, and other things… I told my manager long ago, ‘Remember one thing in life, never ask me how much money I’m giving to my brother’.”He further revealed that what moved him most about Raju was his complete lack of jealousy despite Anupam achieving greater fame and success in the industry. “We both grew up together; we have the same parents. My brother has never been jealous of me, that I am more successful than him. He’s amazing that way,” he said.The actor also mentioned that his parents spent more time living with Raju and his wife, and he credited his sister-in-law for caring for his father until his final days.During the conversation, Anupam also explained why he continues to live in a rented home despite decades of success. According to him, witnessing families torn apart over inheritance and property disputes has deeply affected him over the years. “I become very upset when I see brothers killing each other over property. In the back of my mind, this is one of the reasons why I live on rent,” he shared.
