Anushka Sharma and
Fawad Khan recently wooed fans over with their effortless chemistry in Karan Johar's '
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. Their breezy on-screen camaraderie made fans believe that they shared a close friendship off screen as well. However, when Fawad found himself in the eye of the storm after the Uri attacks, Anushka maintained a stoic silence on the subject.
When questioned about the same in a recent interview with a daily, the actress clarified her equation with the Pak actor saying that she had 'never been in touch' with Fawad post the shoot and that they only interacted on the film sets. However, the actress went on to say that she was 'relieved' that Fawad was picked to play her love interest as she felt the role demanded a strong actor. She went on to explain that his cameo didn't give his character much space and hence he had to convey a lot through his expressions.
Talking about the actor and 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' being targeted, Anushka said that her father fought in the Kargil War and that she understood the feelings of the people at that time. That said, she felt that the issue itself was too grave and beyond two people's conversation.
