'Attack' to 'Anek': Box office duds of 2022
Except for a few films, Bollywood witnessed a downward trend with respect to the box office collections this year. The movies that crashed ticket booking sites were mostly dubbed South movies like 'Pushpa', 'KGF' and 'RRR'.
Here we take a look at the box office duds of 2022.
'Attack: Part 1'
John Abraham starrer 'Attack: Part 1' received mixed reviews from the masses as well as the critics. The critics lauded the action scenes of the film, however, it didn't pull the audience to the theatres. The film scored approximately Rs 20 crore at the box office.
Helmed by Lakshya Raj Anand, the film also starred Rakul Preet in a pivotal role. It was released on April 01, 2022.
'Jersey'
Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey' was received well by the critics. The film was a remake of a Telugu movie with the same name. Though Shahid received appreciation for his performance, the film failed to pull the audience to the cinema halls. Helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film was released on April 22, 2022.
The film earned Rs 22.65 crore approximately in India while Rs 4.47 crore overseas making the worldwide gross collection of Rs 27.12 crore.
'Heropanti 2'
Helmed by Ahmed Khan, the film starred Tiger Shroff. Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles. While critics slammed the poor storyline, they praised Tiger for his action sequences. The film collected Rs 29 crore in India approximately. The was released in theatres on April 29, 2022.
'Dhaakad'
The trailer of Kangana Ranaut's 'Dhaakad' received a lot of appreciation and love from the masses and the critics as well. It also raised the expectations from the film among the audience. However, the action adventure failed to pull the audience to the theatres. Helmed by Razneesh Ghai, it was released on May 20, 2022. It collected around Rs 3.5 crore at the box office.
'Anek'
Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Anek' helmed by Anubhav Sinha also starred J.D. Chakravarthy, Andrea Kevichüsa, Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra. The movie opened to mixed reviews. It was released on May 27, 2022, and collected Rs 11.50 crore approximately at the box office.
