Ayushmann Khurrana has paid tribute to the late legendary singer Asha Bhosle in a special post on social media. The actor posted a video of himself crooning a song originally sung by the legendary artist along with Mohammed Rafi. The video received a lot of love and appreciation from fans.

On Wednesday, Ayushmann took to his Instagram and shared a video of himself strumming the guitar and singing ‘Das Mereya Dilbara’, a Punjabi song crooned by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi.




He wrote in the caption, “This is one of my favourite lesser known Punjabi gems by Asha. Grew up on her voice. And it will live on, always." Take a look.

Asha Bhosle marked her debut as a playback singer for the 1943 Marathi drama ‘Majha Bal’. The veteran singing legend, Asha Bhosle, passed away on April 12 at the age of 92. The singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital a day earlier. She died due to multiple organ failure, according to a statement from the hospital doctors.

The mortal remains of the singing legend were draped in the tricolor as she was cremated with full state honors.

Bollywood celebrities like Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Tabu, Vivek Oberoi, music composer Anu Malik, singers Anup Jalota, Sudesh Bhosale, and Shaan, and filmmaker Ramesh Sippy and actress Padmini Kolhapure were seen at Shivaji Park during the last rites.

Political leaders who paid final respects to her included the chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis; deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde; former CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray; and the MNS supremo, Raj Thackeray.

The singer was given the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award back in 2000, followed by a Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
