Baba Siddique, a leader in Ajit Pawar's faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and former Maharashtra minister, was assassinated mercilessly on Saturday evening outside his office in Bandra. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his bullet injuries. On Sunday, his mortal remains were brought to his residence, where near and dear ones have gathered to pay their respects and stand in solidarity with the grieving family.

The late politician had a close connection with Bollywood; thus, upon hearing the news many celebrities including Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty, and others reached the hospital earlier today. Even as we speak, various Bollywood personalities are visiting the Siddique house.

The case has been registered at the Nirmal Nagar Police Station under the sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Arms Act, and Maharashtra Police Act. Mumbai Crime Branch is leaving no stone unturned in the investigation. Amid the ongoing probe, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has taken responsibility for the murder via a social media post. The authorities are checking the authenticity of the post.
