Popular rapper, and singer Badshah has stepped into a legal suit over alleged nonpayment of dues for the trending song ‘Bawla’.

According to IANS, the case is currently filed in the Karnal District Court under CNR Number HRKR010130502024 and Case Number ARB 47/2024 which includes the complaints that several payment reminders were sent before taking legal action against the singer.

Reportedly the allegations are that Badshah gave false assurances and postponed the payment deadlines. No payments were made by Badshah despite repeated reminders, according to sources.


Sources say that the media company that distributed the ‘Baawla’ song has incurred expenses related to the promotions for the song and other efforts to boost Badshah’s reputation.


Crooned by Badshah and Uchana Amit, ‘Baawla’ is a trendy track that received good traction from music lovers. The lyrics of the song were penned by Badshah and the video song also featured him along with Uchana Amit, and Samreen Kaur. The female vocals were contributed by Nirmala and Shakuntala and the song was composed by Badshah and Aditya Dev.

Meanwhile, Badshah has also been caught up in controversies leading to legal suits. In the year 2023, the Maharashtra Police’s Cyber Cell summoned Badshah over his alleged involvement in an online betting application.


Later Badshah’s lawyer Prashant Patil clarified to the media that Badshah was only summoned under Section 160 of CrPC as a witness and not as an accused, indicating that the singer has not committed any crime. Patil also said that Badshah had cooperated with the investigation process.
