'Battle of Galwan': Chitrangda Singh REVEALS she didn’t pitch herself for the Salman Khan's film, it came unplanned surprise
For Chitrangda Singh, 'The Battle of Galwan' came as a total surprise. She says she never planned or expected to work in a Salman Khan film. She had known Salman socially for many years, but work was never discussed.Talking to IANS about how it all happened, Chitrangda shared, “I got Apoorva Lakhia (director) who gave me a call and I was like, ‘Really?’ I wasn’t so sure that I’d ever end up doing a Salman Khan film because I mean, I don’t even think I ever pitched myself for some work, you know with him even though I’d known him socially for a long time.”

There was no planning

Chitrangda made it clear that there was never any planning behind this pairing. She said it just came her way naturally. She added, “We (Apoorva Lakhia and Chitrangda) never discussed or I never approached him for work. But yeah, so it’s definitely something which was a huge surprise.” For her, that is what made the project even more special. She feels some things are meant to happen without force or expectation.

A big film with real emotions

'The Battle of Galwan' is based on the 2020 India-China clash, an incident that deeply affected the country. Chitrangda feels the film has both scale and emotion.
Speaking about it, she said, “Yes, I think commercially also it’s going to be a big one, Galwan, and it is at the same time rooted in very real incidents. So I think that’s a great combination for cinema.” She also remembered how much the incident was discussed at the time and said, “I remember there was a lot of conversation around what happened at that time.

Proud daughter of an army man

This film is very close to Chitrangda’s heart because of her background. She comes from an army family and feels a strong connection to the story. She shared her feelings openly and said, “I’m happy to be part of something which, you know, I mean that’s the world that I know and I’m very proud to be a daughter of an army man.” She went on to say, “So yeah, it’s very exciting. I’m very happy to be part of this. You know, it’s also a very important film. It’s not just a film. It’s an important film. So I’m happy to be part of this.”'The Battle of Galwan' stars Salman Khan and is directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The movie is expected to mark the comeback of Sallu Bhai.
