A picture may speak a thousand words, but in Bollywood, at times a poster speaks just one - "rip-off".

It is not uncommon for filmmakers to be called out for seeking "inspiration" and ideas from beyond the borders. In this day of remakes, when it isn't the entire film that is being lifted, frame by frame, it is the posters that seem copied or even plagiarized. From Vicky Kaushal's 'Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship' to Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero', here's a look at Bollywood film posters that were allegedly copied.

Vicky Kaushal's new 'Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship' poster is the latest to get tangled in plagiarism allegations. Social media users were quick to point out that a new poster bore a striking resemblance to director Lijo Jose Pellissery's poster of his film ‘Jallikattu’. Copied or not, we'd let you be the judge.

As if the Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ wasn't making enough headlines in the days up to its release, the film was back in the news when an artist called out the makers for plagiarising her artwork in a detailed social media post. The makers were accused of plagiarism over a promotional poster that was strikingly similar to the Hungarian artist's work.

'Saaho' may have had one of the biggest budgets in the Indian film industry, but even that wasn't enough to get the team original posters. Almost every other poster that the team released, was trolled for its similarities to Hollywood films, popular television shows and even video games. Nonetheless, copied or not, the film went on to do very good business at the box office.

When Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin launched the 'Bhram' poster, it got people buzzing, but for all the wrong reasons. On its release, social media users were quick to point out that the poster was a copy of the Hollywood film 'The Nightingale'. The flack the poster received prompted the makers to take off the crow all together and simply run with a solo picture of Kalki with an eerie backdrop in the poster.

When it comes to plagiarism allegations against Bollywood stars, Shah Rukh Khan is also no exception. When the actor released a set of posters for his 2018 film 'Zero', Twitter users pointed it out that the poster featuring Katrina Kaif reaching down to kiss Shah Rukh had many striking resemblances to the poster of the French film titled 'Un Homme a la Hauteur'
