As Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations begin today, Bhumi Satish Pednekkar, as part of the BT Blockbuster Bappas initiative, visited the GSB Seva Mandal pandal in Kings Circle. Dressed in traditional attire, complemented by a nathni that added a special festive touch, she offered her respects to Ganpati Bappa. Sharing the deep connect she feels with Lord Ganesha, the actress says, “Every year as Ganesh Chaturthi nears, my energies go higher and higher. I wait for this day. The sights and sounds in the pandal make me happy. Today, I am here at this pandal, and the beats of the dhol and the sound of the chants creates this spiritual energy, which is so deep and beautiful.”
Bhumi adds, “These few days are very special for my family and me as we come together at my aatya’s house to celebrate the festival. I get teary-eyed when Bappa arrives at home and then I can’t stop my tears when it’s time for visarjan. There is such a deep connection with Bappa.”

The actress has always been fascinated by pandals and has been visiting them since childhood. “I used to go to the one near my house and get amazed seeing the themes, the concepts and admire their creativity. Since I stay close to the beach, I have closely seen the whole visarjan process too,” she shares.
Ask her if she is praying to Bappa for anything special this year, and she says, “This year I will ask him to bless everyone with peace and prosperity. My wish this year is a little more special, I hope and I wish that people show more kindness towards the animals.”
