Blackbuck poaching case: Salman Khan's appeal to be heard today in Session court

Last year, Salman Khan was sentenced to 5-years imprisonment for killing the endangered species Blackbuck in Kankani near Jodhpur in the year 1998, who was allegedly with his co-stars from the movie 'Hum Saath Saath Hai'. However, in the last hearing Saif, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali were acquitted but Salman was convicted.

Last year, Salman Khan was sentenced to 5-years imprisonment for killing the endangered species Blackbuck in Kankani near Jodhpur in the year 1998. Salman, was allegedly with his co-stars from the movie 'Hum Saath Saath Hai'. However, in the last hearing Saif, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali were acquitted but Salman was convicted.
For the uninitiated he was charged under section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and others under Section 51 read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.

Last year in April when the Jodhpur Court found him guilty for killing two blackbucks, he had even spent a night in jail for the blackbuck poaching case.
Post the jail event and the verdict, Salman had challenged Rajasthan court's decision by appealing to the sessions court. In February this year, the hearing was postponed to April 3rd and accordingly, today the session court will deliver its verdict on Salman Khan's blackbuck poaching case.
