Judwaa (1997)

Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor light up the screen in this colourful moment from David Dhawan’s 1997 hit. Salman plays separated twins Raja and Prem, a plot loosely inspired by Jackie Chan’s 'Twin Dragons'. The film’s soundtrack, including “Oonchi Hai Building” and “Tan Tana Tan,” turned into massive party anthems and helped cement Salman’s image as the lovable, slightly chaotic Bollywood masala hero.

Amar Akbar Anthony (1977)

Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna turn this masquerade sequence into pure comic gold in Manmohan Desai’s 1977 blockbuster. The film’s story of three brothers raised in different faiths became the template for the Bollywood masala universe. This costume party scene shows why audiences adored its mix of secular symbolism, slapstick energy and unforgettable songs like ‘My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves’.

Deewaar (1975)

Amitabh Bachchan’s Vijay and Shashi Kapoor’s honest cop Ravi face off in this tense living room confrontation from Yash Chopra’s 1975 classic. Written by Salim Javed, the film defined the “angry young man” era. The iconic line “Mere paas maa hai” still echoes through pop culture, and this quiet scene captures the emotional weight behind that legendary showdown between duty, resentment and love.

4/5

Seeta Aur Geeta (1972)

This frame captures the delicious contrast between timid Seeta and firecracker Geeta in Ramesh Sippy’s beloved 1972 caper. Hema Malini’s double role, flipping between vulnerability and fearless swagger, won her a Filmfare Award. The film cleverly flipped the usual “lost brothers” trope, proving a woman could headline an action packed, comic entertainer and still carry all the emotional weight on her shoulders.

Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973)

This tender embrace reflects the heart of Nasir Hussain’s 1973 musical thriller about three brothers separated by tragedy and reunited through a childhood song. 'Yaadon Ki Baaraat' also featured a young Aamir Khan in an early screen appearance. R D Burman’s music, especially “Chura Liya Hai Tumne,” turned the film into a timeless favourite for Hindi cinema nostalgics.
