With the ‘Avengers’ now disbanded (and some even dead), Bollywood is trying to fill the void with Ranbir Kapoor stepping up with super-human abilities in the long-awaited ‘Brahmastra’ franchise. The film, also starring Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles, will reportedly take its viewers into the mystical world of humans with superpowers, magic and mystery as they present a visual spectacle which is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. For a film that has been three years in the making and boasting of state-of-the-art technology, it is sure to be on the top of everyone’s watch list.

After becoming India’s first Barbie Doll, Katrina Kaif got a major title upgrade – India’s first female superhero. The actress is set to take to the skies with director Ali Abbas Zafar’s next action-packed film. What makes this one different than anything we’ve seen before? Well, Kat may just be flying solo without a man or even a romantic interest slowing her down from her crime-fighting duties. Expect this to be a top-notch Indian superheroine plot with a touch of fantasy, because this film, we hear, will be made according to Hollywood standards.

If superheroes and superhumans are just run-of-the-mill characters for you, then it's a good thing that Vicky Kaushal is bringing demi gods to the playing field. You’ll forget all about Thor when you see Vicky as Ashwatthama, the son of Guru Dronacharya on the big screen in ‘The Immortal Ashwathama’. Tip-toeing along the lines of mythology and science-fiction, this film is about a warrior who took on the Pandavas in the Mahabharata.

Get ready to kiss your ‘Team Jacob’ phase goodbye and welcome a desi werewolf. Varun Dhawan gave the ladies a lot to cheer for when he announced that he will be playing a beast from ancient folktales in his next film ‘Bhediya’. Get ready to see the boy-next-door channel his beasty side in this film co-starring Kriti Sanon as the leading lady. As folk legends also tell us, when a werewolf comes to town, they don’t ever leave without delivering some glorious shirtless scenes.

If a wolf-boy isn't something you fancy, might we suggest a 'Nagin'? Shraddha Kapoor will take on the role of legends when she turns into a shape-shifting serpent in the upcoming trilogy helmed by Vishal Furia. It will be interesting to see what she brings to the role, immortalised by many Bollywood veteran actors, including late Sridevi. Rest assured, this one will be rooted deep in Indian folklore and will have a major visual upgrade with latest VFX tech coming into play.
