Celina Jaitly has shared a rather cryptic social media post about “breaking up with a narcissist” amid reports that the
Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against her husband, Peter Haag, following allegations of domestic violence.
Late on Friday night, the actress took to her Instagram stories to post a photograph of a book she had been reading. The page, titled
“Breaking Up With a Narcissist,” featured highlighted passages that appeared to resonate deeply with her. “Breaking up with a narcissist is like breaking up with version of yourself that they created,” the highlighted text read.
The passage further stated, “When you leave, you're not just ending the relationship; you're reclaiming your identity, your voice, and your life from the grip of someone who never truly saw or valued you...”
Another highlighted section concluded with the lines, “You deserve to rewrite your story and reclaim your power... You deserve to heal. You are not who they said you were.”
The actress’ post came hours after reports emerged that police had acted on serious allegations of domestic violence levelled by Jaitly against her estranged husband, Haag. As per the officials, the FIR has been registered under Sections 85, 115(2), 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deal with allegations related to cruelty, causing harm, intimidation, and sustained harassment. The case is also linked to ongoing proceedings under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
The Mumbai Police have also issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Peter Haag. Sources indicate that the move was prompted due to alleged non-cooperation with the ongoing investigation. An LOC is generally issued in cases where authorities believe an accused individual may evade questioning or leave the country during the course of a probe.
So far, neither Peter nor his legal representatives have issued any public statement regarding the allegations. Mumbai Police are reportedly continuing to record statements and collect relevant material connected to the complaint.
Celina, who has been married to Peter since 2010, filed a case against the businessman in November 2025, under Section 23 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2025, for interim and ex parte relief. She has sought damages of Rs 50 crores and other sums in lieu of "loss of earnings/visibility suffered by the Complainant due to the abuse meted out by the Respondent, followed by other monetary orders for loss caused due to property removal, funds misappropriation, and maintenance."Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
