Chandan Roy Sanyal, next, too, has an ‘83 connect

While the Ranveer Singh-starrer, ‘83, is making noise, BT has learnt that there is one more film in the making, which will have the same flavour. However, unlike the Kabir Khan-directorial, which revolves around India’s victory in the 1983 cricket World Cup, the latter will have the win just as a backdrop.

, directed by Ravi Adhikari — actor Chandan Roy Sanyal says, “Our film revolves around four young men, who are good friends. They not only chase their own dreams, but also help each other achieve their goals. A travel story, it has been shot across the length and breadth of the country, including Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh, Agra, Chambal, and Goa, and in different weather conditions.”

Shedding light on the 1983 World Cup angle, Chandan, who was last seen in Jabariya Jodi (2019), says, “Each character is set in a different location. Since the film is set in that time period (83), you will see characters being excited about the match and talking about it.” In the film, Chandan plays a teacher who aspires to become a journalist. “I play a government school teacher. He doesn’t earn much and wants to be an investigative journalist to win some fame and respect,” he says.
