Constable Kulwinder Kaur, who'slapped' Kangana Ranaut in Chandigarh still suspended, not transferred to Bengaluru; Confirms CISF

CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who was suspended for allegedly slapping actress-turned-BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, has been transferred from Chandigarh. It was reported that she was transferred and 'reinstated’ in Bengaluru.

Now, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) issued a clarification on Wednesday stating that constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped BJP MP Kangana Ranaut last month at Chandigarh Airport, is still suspended and that a departmental inquiry against her is ongoing.



For those unaware, on June 6, while traveling to New Delhi, Kangana was slapped by an on-duty female CISF constable at the Chandigarh Airport. The constable, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, was reportedly unhappy with Kangana's comments about Punjab women during the farmers’ agitation against the three farm laws, where Kangana suggested they participated in the protest for money.

Following the incident, Kangana took to Instagram and assured everyone that she was safe, as she said in a video message, “First of all, I am safe; I am perfectly fine... As soon as I came out after the security check, a woman in another cabin, a CISF security staff member, waited for me to cross her and hit my face from the side. She started abusing me. When I asked her why, she said that she supports the farmers’ protest. I am safe, but my concern is how we handle the terrorism and extremism that are increasing in Punjab.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana is also gearing up for the release of her much-awaited film 'Emergency'. In the film, Kangana will be playing the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It also stars Anupam Kher as Jayprakash Narayan, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The film will be released in cinemas on September 6, 2024.
