'Coolie' actress Shruti Haasan on possibility of marriage after breakup; shares thoughts on motherhood plans

Actress Shruti Haasan has never shied away from speaking her mind, and in a recent candid chat, she revealed why she has decided never to get married.“I am petrified of the idea of marriage,” Shruti admitted, explaining that while she believes deeply in loyalty and commitment, she feels uncomfortable tying it all down with “a piece of paper.” Having worked hard to build her identity and independence, she finds the traditional idea of marriage “really scary,” even if she cherishes everything it represents.Shruti also shared that she came close to getting married once. But things did not work out due to incompatibility. “It wasn’t my fault. It was incompatibility,” she explained in a chat with Ranveer Allahabadia, acknowledging the weight marriage carries, with its potential for children and shared futures. Despite her fear of marriage, Shruti confessed she has always wanted to be a mother but believes in the presence of two parents for a child’s upbringing. She also shared that adoption could be a possibility, calling children “fascinating.”Embracing Solitude, Not LonelinessCurrently single after her breakup with Santanu Hazarika last year, Shruti shared she is now focusing on loving herself the most. “What I am working on is solitude, not calling it loneliness,” she reflected. Instead of rushing into a relationship to escape loneliness, Shruti is choosing to embrace her solitude fully before letting anyone into her life again.With her next big release 'Coolie' on the horizon, Shruti’s journey toward embracing herself is as powerful as the characters she brings alive on screen. 'Coolie' is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and stars Rajinikanth in the lead. The movie also features Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Pooja Hegde and many others in the lead role.
