Zaira Wasim got into a war of words with Sports Minister
Vijay Goel on Twitter. The young star, who recently stirred up a controversy with her shocking apology letter, found herself battling it out with the Sports Minister after he posted a tweet much to her distaste.
Goel, who was inaugurating the India Art Festival in Delhi, came across a painting which he interpreted as 'the story similar to that of Zaira Wasim.' The picture in question was that of a girl trapped in a cage amidst the backdrop of a girl in a hijab.
However, Zaira seemed to have interpreted the picture differently, to which she hit back saying, 'Sir, with all respect to you, I feel I must disagree. I request you not to connect me to such a discourteous depiction.' Saying that women in hijab are beautiful and free, she added in her tweet, 'Moreover, the story depicted through this painting is not even remotely relevant to mine.'
Seeing that his tweet was not to the teenager's liking, Goel tried to explain himself saying, 'You have interpreted wrong. I appreciated your work and stated that evil and patriarchal notions must be discouraged.' The minister also wished the young starlet the very best and extended a wish to meet her soon.
