De Dana Dan goes for a toss

Plans by the unit of De Dana Dan to raise funds for the victims of 26/11 through a cricket match were foiled recently.
This match was being planned by the film's lead actors Sunil Shetty and Akshay Kumar's and was going to be held in Pune on November 26.
Akshay, Sunil, the unit members of De Dana Dan and a local team from Pune were supposed to play the match. However, it was cancelled at the last minute as President Pratibha Patil is scheduled to visit Pune on the same day.
The film's lead actor, Akshay Kumar said, "Sunil and I have been planning this cricket match for almost a week.On Sunday evening, we were informed that the President is going to be in Pune and we have been requested to schedule the match at a later date."
A source said, "The De Dana Dan Team 11 would have played against the Pune Team 11 at the Pune Club between 9 am and 1 pm. But now, we have been asked to change the date of the match as no other public gathering is allowed in Pune on November 26. Any public gathering on that day could create security hassles. "
Ratan Jain, producer, said, "Our endeavor was to raise money for the widows and children of the martyrs of 26/11. However, now we have to wait for the permission from the local authorities. Security concerns have to be kept in mind and cannot be taken for granted."
