Deepika Deshpande Amin who played Shah Rukh Khan's mother in 'FAN' reveals THIS about the star

Actor Deepika Deshpande Amin shared the screen with Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, in the 2016 film ‘Fan,’ where she played the role of his mother. Recently, she provided insights into her experience working with Shah Rukh Khan in Barry John’s theatre group nearly two decades ago.

Recalling those days, Deepika praised SRK for his energy, enthusiasm, and considerate nature. She stated that SRK still possesses the same energy he had decades ago. In a chat with Rajshri Unplugged, she mentioned that SRK's nature. She said, he's always very enthusiastic and his attitude is always like, 'Let's do this and let's do that.' That's very admirable about him.

She recalled instances wherein after late-night theatre rehearsals, SRK and actor Rituraj Singh used to ensure the safe transportation of all the girls to their homes. Both of them had cars, and SRK used his Maruti van to assist some of the girls. Deepika further shared that they used to go and buy costumes together.


In an interview with DNA, she expressed her surprise when she was offered to play SRK's mother in 'Fan', considering they are contemporaries. Initially, she was confused as her age wasn't as much to play a mother to him. However, she was assured that she was portraying mom to SRK's character named Gaurav, who would be made to look younger with the help of prosthetics.
