Deepika Padukone to Anushka Sharma: Actresses who made their Bollywood debuts with Shah Rukh Khan

Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most loved actors in the industry. He has always managed to steal hearts with his impeccable and effortless acting. Be it action, comedy, romance or any other genre, SRK has aced it all and entertained his fans thoroughly. The King of Romance has also encouraged new talents and introduced to the industry beauties like Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Mahira Khan and others. Here’s looking back at the list of actresses who made their Bollywood debut with King Khan:

In 2007, DP made her debut with SRK in the film ‘Om Shanti Om’. Both of them were seen essaying double role in it and their fresh pairing managed to woo the hearts of the audience. Deepika also won the Best Debut Filmfare award that year and since then, there’s no looking back for her.

Anushka, who has impressed everyone with her performances, made her smashing debut with Shah Rukh in YRF’s film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ in 2008. She went on to receive rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. She had also won several awards back then for her performance. It was surely a dream debut for her.

Mahira Khan, who is a popular name in Pakistan, made her debut in Shah Rukh starrer ‘Raees’. Everyone was all praise for the film and their fresh pairing. She was not able to promote her first film in India due to the ban on Pakistani artists.

In the year 1998, Preity made her debut in ‘Dil Se..’ with Khan. Though she was not one of the main leads but her role was too appreciated by the audience. She was noticed and went on to star in other films like ‘Kya Kehna’ and ‘Solider’ which proved to be breakthrough films in her career.

Shilpa made her big debut in Abbas-Mustan’s thriller film ‘Baazigar’ which starred Shah Rukh and Kajol. Despite working alongside big names, Shilpa’s performance was highly praised and the film went on to become super hit. Since then, her career took off and even today she is working in some amazing films post her sabbatical.

Mahima entered the film industry in 1997 with Subhash Ghai’s film ‘Pardes’. Mahima and SRK’s pair was one of the most loved pairs of that time. She even won Best Debut Filmfare award for the same. ‘Pardes also managed to do well at the box office.

Suchitra, who was a TV actress, made her breakthrough debut with Shah Rukh in 1994 in the film ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’. Directed by Kundan Shah, the film went on to become a commercially and critically acclaimed hit. Even today, it is one of the most loved films of the cine-goers.

In 2004, Gayatri, who was a model, made her Bollywood debut with SRK in Ashutosh Gowariker’s film ‘Swades’. Her performance received a lot of appreciation from the critics. The film went on to become a cult classic and it is considered as SRK's best performance even today.

After working in a few commercials with Shah Rukh, Waluscha made her Bollywood debut in 2016 opposite him in ‘Fan’. The actress was seen in the supporting role. Despite good performances, the film was an average affair at the box office.
