Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is set to make a grand return to the big screen with his upcoming film 'Sky Force', also featuring Veer Pahariya, directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur, Sandeep Kewlani. The film is scheduled to release on January 24, 2025, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend.
Recently, the 'Sky Force' team held an exclusive screening in Delhi, which was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who praised the film for its portrayal of a big chapter from India's post-Independence history that focuses on the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Air Force during the 1965 Indo-Pak War. The film centres around India's first airstrike on the Sargodha air base.
Minister Singh shared his thoughts on social media, commending the cast and crew for their efforts in bringing this pivotal story to life. On X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "Joined CDS and three service chiefs at the special screening of Sky Force. The film narrates the story of the Indian Air Force’s bravery, courage, and sacrifice during the 1965 War. I laud the makers of the film for their efforts."
The screening featured notable figures including Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, and producers Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik. Akshay expressed his gratitude to Minister Singh and the Chief of Defence Staff for attending the event on social media as he wrote, "Thank you, Sir. An absolute honour for me and the team of Skyforce that you, the CDS and the three service chiefs took out time to watch and bless our film. We’ve made it with a lot of gratitude and pride for the courage of our armed forces."
Veer Pahariya also wrote, "What an honour! Memories for a lifetime. Thank you, Sir."
'Sky Force' stars Akshay Kumar as Wing Commander K.O. Ahuja and marks the Bollywood debut of Veer Pahariya as Air Force Officer T Vijaya. The film also features Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in key roles.
