Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he shared a short but heartfelt post that read, “Happy birthday, thalaiva,” accompanied by a series of affectionate emojis. The message reminded fans of Dhanush’s long-standing admiration for the superstar, an admiration that began long before he became part of Rajinikanth’s family.

Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya and Dhanush were married for two decades before parting ways in 2024. Despite the separation, Dhanush continues to share a cordial bond with the superstar. Dhanush and Aishwarya had announced their separation in a joint statement back in 2022. In their statement, they said, “18 years of togetherness as friends, as a couple, and as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Om Namashivaaya! Spread love.” The cause of their split has not been revealed.
