Mithun Chakraborty has recently been honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the National Awards Ceremony 2024, which took place in New Delhi. This event happened on October 8 and Mithun received this honour from President Droupadi Murmu. While Mithun got a standing ovation, the 'Disco Dancer' actor has been getting a lot of love from netizens and his fellow industry friends.
Now Dharmendra also took to social media to express his love for Mithun in a heartfelt note while congratulating him. The 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' actor candidly expressed, "My darling younger brother Mithun, Congratulations for Dada Saheb Phalke most prestigious Award. pay my love to everyone our loving and friends . My humble boy, I am out of INDIA. i will come personally to hug you "
During the ceremony, Mithun walked the red carpet and expressed his excitement for the award. He said, “I used to wonder why I hadn't received the Padma Bhushan when people younger than me were getting it. I thought, 'If everyone else is getting it, why not me?' But now, I have finally received it. What can I say? It’s such a great honor; I can only thank God. After all the struggles I faced, God has given everything back to me. I'm still in the process of processing this."
Sharmila Tagore who was also present at the ceremony as her film ‘Gulmohar’ received the ‘Best Film’ award, was all praise for Mithun. She said that he spoke so well that it inspired her and she instantly went and embraced him.
