'Dhurandhar' star Akshaye Khanna reveals his minimalist diet: 'No breakfast, no snacks, dal, rice and shaam ki chai'
Following the massive success of the espionage spy thriller 'Dhurandhar', all eyes are on the breakout star, Akshaye Khanna. While his menacing portrayal of Rehman Dakait and viral dance steps to the song 'Fa9la' have taken the internet by storm, the veteran actor recently revealed in an interview that his off-screen life is surprisingly disciplined and minimalist.
"I never eat breakfast. I go straight to lunch and then dinner, and even between lunch and dinner I don’t eat anything at all, not even a sandwich or a biscuit," Khanna shared.
Despite the intense filming schedules of a high-octane action film, the actor remains firm on his "no-snack" policy. The only exception? His beloved "shaam ki chai" (evening tea), which he never misses.
Perhaps the most surprising reveal was his dedication to rest. "I sleep about 10 hours a day," he stated, underlining the fact that recovery is just as important as diet.
Despite these disciplined eating habits, Khanna also revealed that he enjoys a variety of relatable favorites. He admitted, “My favourite foods are lychee, bhindi and cake,” showing his fondness for simple, everyday items. When it comes to his staples, he prefers traditional options over fancy alternatives, noting, “Sometimes I do it, but mostly I prefer normal roti.”
He also confessed to having a sweet tooth, revealing that he doesn’t avoid treats and can "eat anything sweet."
"To be honest, it’s crazy. My DMs are blowing up every single day," Flipperachi told India Today. He noted that fans are constantly tagging him in videos of themselves recreating Akshaye’s signature "Dakait" moves from the film.
'Dhurandhar' Part 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19. It is slated to clash with 'Toxic' starring Yash, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Kiara Advani and Huma Qureshi.
