Did Janhvi Kapoor oppose to her camera angles in Peddi? Leaked chats claim so, Ram Charan said no to objectify her: 'No waist shots'

The controversy surrounding 'Peddi' has taken a fresh turn after fan clubs of Janhvi Kapoor shared screenshots of what they claim are private conversations between the actor and fans. The alleged chats, which surfaced on the internet shortly after director Buchi Babu Sana issued an apology over criticism of the film's portrayal of women, suggest that Janhvi may have expressed concerns about certain scenes during the production stage itself. For those not in the know, 'Peddi' faced severe backlash after its release for the objectification of Janhvi's character. Now as per these viral leaked chats, Janhvi had opposed to the camera angles and even Ram Charan had backed the actress and said no for taking such angles.

The screenshots, widely circulated across social media platforms, appear to show the actor objecting to specific camera angles used while filming sequences involving her character, Achiyyamma. In one of the most discussed messages, allegedly sent on October 30, Janhvi reportedly wrote, “I told him no b**b and waist shots (sic).”



Another message that has attracted significant attention suggests that co-star Ram Charan supported her objections. According to the screenshots, Janhvi wrote, "And Ram sir is so sweet. He also yelled at him and said, 'You will not take such angles of her ever again.' So he got upset (sic)."



The purported conversation indicates that concerns regarding the visual treatment of her character may have been raised internally during filming, with the messages seemingly referring to discussions involving director Buchi Babu Sana.

In a separate exchange, Janhvi allegedly hinted that such experiences were not uncommon in the industry. According to the leaked screenshots, she wrote, “It keeps happening in the south.”

The discussion reportedly continued when fans drew comparisons to the criticism surrounding Kiara Advani's portrayal in 'Game Changer'. Responding to the comparison, Janhvi allegedly stated, “No, in this what they were taking was worse. But Ram sir said no way, stop (sic).”

The screenshots also appear to touch upon issues of consent and an actor's ability to influence creative decisions. In one message, Janhvi reportedly expressed frustration over trying to communicate her discomfort, writing, “You have no idea what I've been dealing with. Trying to make them understand.”

Another part of the alleged conversation referenced the presence of parents on film sets. Janhvi reportedly mentioned actor Sreeleela and suggested that if her father, producer Boney Kapoor, were to intervene on her behalf, the situation could become "extreme."

Among the messages circulating online, one of the most emotional appears to capture the actor's exhaustion with the situation. According to the screenshots, she wrote, “No more film. We are done.”
