During the conversation with Indianexpress.com, Varun Dhawan shared that he had always thought 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' was a "cooler" film and was eager to watch it. This impatience, however, annoyed his father, David Dhawan.

Varun Dhawan recalled that the 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' premiere took place in London, though he wasn’t sure why. He mentioned that the producers had arranged a limousine for them, with posters of Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan's faces making funny expressions plastered on it. While riding through the streets of London in the limo, Varun admitted he was eager to watch 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' instead, despite not knowing Karan Johar at the time.

'Badlapur' shared that he found Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to be a "cooler" film, but his father, David Dhawan, was frustrated with his attitude and threatened to leave him on the streets if he continued.

Varun recalled telling his father that he couldn’t treat children that way, to which his father responded, questioning why he had even brought him along, calling him badly behaved. He noted that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan had a bigger opening due to its mass appeal, but Kuch Kuch Hota Hai eventually became a massive success. Varun added that, in the end, it was Karan Johar who launched his career.

Meanwhile, Varun is currently gearing up for the release of his OTT espionage actioner 'Citadel: Honey Bunny'. The Ra-DK-helmed series—penned by Sita R. Menon—pairs him opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu, both playing undercover agents.

Besides this, Varun will be seen on the big screen in yet another actioner, Baby John. The film is backed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan director, Atlee.
