Diljit Dosanjh makes rare appearance in Mumbai months after Sardaar Ji 3 controversy, chooses not to step out or interact
Months after his film Sardaar Ji 3 stirred controversy, Diljit Dosanjh was spotted in Mumbai. The singer-actor, known for his chart-topping hits and global concerts, was seen seated inside a car, making a rare appearance in the city.
Paparazzi captured the moment, but Diljit chose not to step out or interact, suggesting his visit was a brief stop for professional commitments. Reports hint he may have been in town for a meeting. This sighting comes after his December 2024 Mumbai concert, which was part of his ongoing world tour.
Earlier, the Udta Punjab star was seen at the airport, flashing his signature smile as paps greeted him with shouts of “Paaji!” Dressed in a white tee, blue denims and a striking red turban, Diljit kept his look effortless. Though he didn’t pause for pictures, he folded his hands and acknowledged the photographers warmly before driving off.
That outing marked his first public appearance since Sardaar Ji 3 came under fire for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir as the female lead. The move triggered backlash and even led the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to issue a non-cooperation order against him.
Amid the storm, Diljit shifted focus to humanitarian causes. In a heartfelt Instagram reel, he highlighted the devastation caused by floods in Punjab. “The situation in Punjab is very bad due to floods. People have lost their homes… Punjab is wounded, but not defeated,” he said, urging citizens and organizations to extend long-term support.
Despite controversies, the Amar Singh Chamkila actor has kept his focus on work. He’s actively filming Border 2 and has even shared glimpses from the set, subtly assuring fans that he’s still very much in action.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a high-profile war drama starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty alongside Diljit. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, and presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in collaboration with J.P. Films.
The film is slated for a Republic Day 2026 release.blic Day weekend release on January 23, 2026, and marks a sequel to the 1997 classic Border.
