Diljit Dosanjh's 'Ikk Kudi' is soulful

He's been a popular name in Punjab, and after rendering his voice for some hit numbers like 'Tung Tung Baje', 'Patiala Peg' and so on for several films and singles as well, actor and pop singer Diljit Dosanjh has sung the song 'Ikk Kudi' in the film Udta Punjab. The song that was released today, is picturised on Alia Bhatt, who plays a Bihari migrant worker who is also a hockey fan.This soulful melody depicts Alia Bhatt's journey in 'Udta Punjab'.

The song features Diljit at a restaurant, where he is singing the song. Not many know that the song is actually a poem penned by Shri Shiv Kumar Batavi, and Diljit was elated to know that it would feature in his debut Bollywood film. Diljit who is playing the role of a tough Punjabi cop in 'Udta Punjab' says that it was special experience for him since he also got a chance to sing the song. The film is visceral take on the issue of substance abuse in Punjab and stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt, too, in lead roles.
