Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge

This cult classic romantic film set record after record as we saw Raj and Simran's romance unfold. The Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan relationship became a defining moment in filmmaking history and conveyed love and romance. Great performances by Kajol with her innocent girl-next-door look and Shah Rukh Khan flirting with you on a romantic note made this movie a classic for generations of kids born in the '90s. "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge" was a massive success, winning a record of 10 popular Awards, being the top-performing Bollywood film in its release year, and also holding the record for the longest-running film of all time in Indian cinema history.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

With another landmark Hindi movie starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the kings of on-screen romance, it never took the shine off our hearts. We have seen so many romantic love triangle films, but this was a great twist and had a very good ensemble cast, including Rani Mukerji. Not to mention many of our incredible performances by Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan, and Rani Mukerji combined with Karan Johar's breathtaking visuals, and we can't overlook Salman Khan's cameo, a milestone crossing everything possible back then for a film so remarkable.

Baazigar

This film tried to tackle the subject of the heroic person being cast in a negative light with a head-on approach. This was an unimaginable idea at the time, and it made it an even more unforgettable experience for many of its audiences, who were deep in the dark world of crime thriller theatre. Kajol had a role that was strong enough and expansive enough to be a contrast from that of so many other heroines and to propel their presence beyond the role of just another ‘love interest’ to the lead star.

4/6

Ishq

This 1997 movie did very well at the box office, and the music, with tunes like "Neend Churayi Meri," along with the zany slapstick humor, still hits home. "Ishq" was successful, becoming the year's third highest-grossing Hindi film. It was originally released in 1997 at the box office of Indian cinema. The pairing of Kajol with Ajay Devgn was a hit with audiences in real life as well.

My Name Is Khan

Mandira was Kajol in Karan Johar’s unconventional love story when she fell in love with Rizwan (Shah Rukh Khan), who had an autism diagnosis. Kajol’s performance was sincere enough to reveal a relationship that appeared warm and romantically dynamic on screen. It went on to bag 25 awards out of 84 nominations, including Filmfare Awards for Best Actor and Best Director.

6/6

Gupt

This is one of the top Bollywood suspense films that you may be guessing all the way through with red herrings and twists in the plot. Kajol made a historic impression with her work in the negative role and, thus, became the first actress to win a Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role.
