Post the release of 'Dhurandhar',
Akshaye Khanna has become an internet sensation. We had seen a similar euphoria when
Bobby Deol did 'Animal'. At that point, Bobby Deol's entry song 'Jamal Kudu' and his hook step went viral. This time around it's Akshaye's entry song 'FA9LA' and steps which have gone viral. While Akshaye is getting appreciated from all over, now actor
Dino Morea has also lauded him. Dino known for his roles in movies like 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi', 'Raaz' was recently seen in the series 'The Royals'.
He praised Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna for leaving a powerful impression with their recent performances, while also highlighting how the digital age has significantly expanded an actor’s reach. Dino looked back at his own career, especially the lasting impact of films like ‘Raaz’ and ‘Aksar’, and shared that audiences continue to associate him with those successes even today. When asked about Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna becoming viral sensations, Dino said in an interview with IANS, “The way Bobby has got his chance to shine in 'Animal' and Akshaye has got his chance to shine, especially in Dhurandhar more than 'Chhaava', is incredible."
He went on to explain how things were very different during his peak years, adding, “When I had 'Raaz' as a success or 'Aksar' as a success, there was really no social media, right? So, people saw the movies and still remember me from then." Recalling the reach of ‘Raaz’, Dino mentioned that the film travelled “from villages to top-tier cities”, and feedback came directly from audiences who watched the movie in theatres.
Drawing a comparison with the present scenario, he noted, “Today, people don’t see a film, but they are all over the internet. And that spread is faster and wider." Reflecting on how fame operates now, Dino said, “If I had to do something like Akshay or Bobby did today in a certain role, I think that would spread really fast through the internet. And I would probably have the same craze that they are having today. And I feel fantastic for both of them because they are brilliant."
'Dhurandhar' is now on its way to touch Rs 450 crore net in India. Globally, the film has crossed Rs 600 crore.
Dino further concluded by saying that the recognition Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna are currently enjoying is completely deserved and a testament to their talent.
