On April 5, 1993, Divya Bharti returned from Chennai, from a shoot. Thereafter, she was supposed to travel to Hyderabad for the second shoot, but owing to her foot injury, she canceled the same. Also, the actress signed a new flat deal on the very day.
After canceling the shoot, Divya Bharti met designer
Neeta Lulla and her husband Shyam Lulla on her flat. Both of them reached Divya’s flat around 10 o'clock and the three sat in the living room to enjoy some drinks.
Meanwhile, Divya's maid Amrita was in the kitchen. Sometime later, while Nita and Shyam were watching the video in the living room, Divya went to the window. She was simply sitting near the window, but as soon as she turned, she lost her balance.
The actress fell flat on the ground from the fifth floor. Since there was no grill on the window or any other safety measure, she couldn't cling on anything. Also, that day there was no car parked in the area.
Even after falling from the window, Divya was breathing but she suffered from heavy blood loss. She was immediately taken to the emergency ward, but couldn’t survive for long.
