Divya Khosla confronts Mukesh Bhatt for his comments on her as he defended Alia Bhatt in the 'Jigra vs Savi' controversy, drops their call recording online

In a surprising development in the ongoing Savi vs Jigra controversy, producer Mukesh Bhatt—who had earlier implied that Divya Khossla Kumar was stirring up the issue for publicity—now seems to be backtracking. For those not in the know, during a chat with Lehren Retro, Mukesh Bhatt had dismissed Divya’s Jigra vs Savi allegations and said, "I don’t know what Divya Khossla said and did for publicity I don’t know. I think Mahesh made a film for Yash Johar Gumrah, which was copied from Bangkok Hilton. I think Jigra was inspired by that film. I made the film (Savi) which was adapted from Russel Crowe’s The Next Three Days. I swapped the male lead’s character with the female, which was played by Divya.”

He also added, "You may say something to the media to create controversy which could help you gain publicity.” He defended Alia and said she is too big a star and doesn't need to steal anything from anyone.




Days after Bhatt's comments, Divya Khosla Kumar has now confronted him on the same. She shared a recording of their conversation on social media. In this recording, Mukesh can be heard denying ever making such claims and suggesting that the uproar is part of a broader “planned" move intended to harm her. On Thursday, Divya uploaded the call recording to Instagram. In the audio, she confronts Mukesh directly, asking whether he had indeed accused her of creating a controversy for attention. Mukesh refutes it entirely, saying, “Na mereko kisi ne pucha, na maine kisi ko bola (Neither someone asked me nor did I say it to anyone). This is again created by people who’ve got vested interests."

Divya expresses how hurt she felt, particularly because the negative stories surfaced on her birthday. Mukesh Bhatt can be seen responding to her sympathetically, assuring her he said nothing defamatory and hinting that someone else might be engineering the situation. “Beta, this is all planned. The fact that this happened on your birthday means somebody wants to hurt you and has intentionally planned this. First of all, I didn’t know it was your birthday. Aur main aise harkat nahi karta; by now you know me, beta," he tells her. He further points toward “the other camp" as a possible source and advises Divya to remain focused, adding that she has “a good year planned ahead."

Along with the audio clip, Divya wrote that she was disturbed by what she had recently learned about the functioning of internal politics in the film industry. “What I have recently discovered is disturbing and heartbreaking," she said. “It is important to open this truth to the public… artists and fans have suffered under hierarchy, lobbying, and gatekeeping in our film industry."

She explained that releasing the call had become unavoidable, saying it was necessary to reveal the forces that try to “sabotage careers and push genuine talent out."

Interestingly, this stands in contrast to Mukesh Bhatt’s earlier remarks in an interview with Lehren Retro, . At the time, he said, “What Divya did for publicity, I don’t know about that. To get some attention in the media, you can create some controversy. Everyone needs publicity, and for publicity, you need some controversy." He had also defended Alia Bhatt, insisting she would never “steal ideas," calling her intelligent, grounded, and above such actions.

Meanwhile, in the same interview, Mukesh Bhatt also spoke about his fallout with brother Mahesh Bhatt and being heartbroken for not being invited to Alia Bhatt's wedding.
