A closer look at Alia Bhatt's exciting slate ahead in 2026

Alia Bhatt remains one of the most dynamic performers in Hindi cinema, constantly reinventing herself with each new role. After earning acclaim for her performances in films like ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ and ‘Jigra’, the actor is now gearing up for a diverse and ambitious lineup. From high-octane action to sweeping dramas and experimental genres, Alia’s upcoming projects promise scale, substance, and star power.

‘Alpha’

Alia Bhatt is all set to step into the action arena with ‘Alpha’, marking her entry into the YRF Spy Universe. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film pairs her with Sharvari and presents Alia in a fierce, physically demanding role. The actor will be seen performing intense stunts while playing a spy on a high-risk mission, reinforcing the growing space for female-led action films. Bobby Deol is cast as the antagonist, with Anil Kapoor also expected to play a pivotal role.

‘Love & War’

One of the most anticipated projects on Alia’s slate is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal alongside her, the film is said to be set against the backdrop of conflict and emotional upheaval. Blending romance, drama, and action, the film promises Bhansali’s trademark grandeur and intense performances. While plot details remain tightly guarded, Alia is believed to have devoted extensive time to prepare for her role. The film is expected to hit screens in 2026.

‘Chamunda’

Alia is reportedly in advanced talks to headline Dinesh Vijan’s supernatural thriller ‘Chamunda’. Rooted in Indian mythology, the film is expected to explore dark folklore and psychological horror. Alia’s character is said to experience disturbing visions linked to ominous forces. According to India Todya, if finalised, the project could mark the beginning of a new horror franchise, with Alia playing a central role in shaping its tone and impact. Formal announcements are expected once negotiations conclude.

‘Brahmāstra: Part Two - Dev’

After the success of ‘Brahmāstra: Part One’, Alia Bhatt will reprise her role as Isha in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmāstra: Part Two – Dev’. The sequel is expected to delve deeper into the franchise’s mythology, with Alia’s character gaining greater narrative importance. As new revelations unfold and the mysterious Dev enters the story, the film aims to expand its visual scale, emotional depth, and mythological universe.

‘Don’t Be Shy!’

Don’t Be Shy is an indie romantic comedy about Shyamili “Shy” Das. She is 20 years old with plans for her future that turn into unexpected circumstances. Sreeti Mukerji wrote and directed the movie. Alia Bhatt produced her first project for Netflix called Darlings, which was well reviewed. She then produced another movie titled 'Poacher' for Prime Video. But her production company had an unfortunate event during the release of 'Jigra'.
