​The world of Bollywood is known for its extravagant productions, dazzling song-and-dance routines, and larger-than-life stories. However, not every grand vision makes it to the silver screen. Here are 6 big-budget Bollywood films that were announced with much fanfare but ultimately got shelved:

​Karan Johar planned a big historical drama called 'Takht' with top stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt. The story set in the Mughal era faced problems with its story and budget, so the project has been put on hold.

A sequel to the hit film 'Dostana' from 2008, 'Dostana 2' was supposed to bring a fresh romantic comedy with Janhvi Kapoor, Lakshya Lalwani, and initially Kartik Aaryan. But differences in ideas between the filmmakers and Kartik Aaryan led to the movie being delayed.

After the success of 'Munnabhai MBBS,' a sequel titled 'Munna Bhai Chale Amerika' was announced, featuring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in their famous roles. The film aimed to bring humor as the characters went on an adventure to America. Unfortunately, the project didn't move forward beyond its announcement.

'Inshallah,' a romantic drama, got a lot of attention because it was set to star Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt together. However, disagreements between the director and actors, along with Salman Khan's busy schedule, led to the movie being canceled.

'Shuddhi' was an ambitious project that planned to tell a passionate love story with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. It was meant to be visually stunning, but faced challenges with its script and budget, so it has been put on hold indefinitely.
